Environmental Technology Platform

From contamination
to clean outcome
one accountable system

We bring together investigation, biological treatment, scientific validation and environmental monitoring under a single platform. Northern Ireland is our proof of concept. Offshore, GB and beyond is where we scale.

How the platform works Get in touch

The platform — full lifecycle

01

Investigate

Site survey, sediment sampling, contamination mapping and environmental assessment. Know exactly what you're dealing with before any intervention.

02

Treat

Biological hydrocarbon degradation — marina bilge, marine spill response, land and coastal remediation. Targeted, proven, deployable at scale.

03

Validate

Independent scientific verification in partnership with AFBI. Ecological modelling and third-party evidence — not your word, but the science.

04

Monitor

Ongoing environmental monitoring and regulatory reporting. Outcomes tracked over time — giving regulators, clients and insurers what they need.

Evidence in the field

Results that speak for themselves

Not proposals. Not pilots awaiting data. Real contamination events, real measurements, real outcomes — across infrastructure, quarrying and renewables.

Fuel contamination contained — river outfall protected throughout a seven-year monitoring programme

Following historic fuel spillage at an active aggregate quarry in Ireland, Polysorb undertook full site investigation, established a contamination baseline and initiated monthly biological microbial treatment. Despite peak contamination exceeding 960,000 µg/L, the outfall to the adjacent river was protected throughout. Contamination has been progressively reduced to near-regulatory thresholds through sustained treatment and monitoring.

Turbine gearbox and hydraulic oil spills — rapid biological response reducing industry-average cleanup costs

Gearbox and hydraulic oil failures are a recurring operational risk across the UK and Irish wind fleet, particularly in older turbines and exposed coastal sites. External tower leakage and soil contamination trigger regulatory reporting obligations and costly third-party cleanup. Polysorb's pre-positioned response model combines spill kits, approved microbial treatment and trained rapid-response contractors to reduce time to containment and total incident cost.

Operational risks addressed

Soil and watercourse contamination from external tower leakage
Fire and slip hazard from internal gearbox oil pooling
Regulatory breach and NIEA / EA reporting obligations
Insurance risk and potential loss of coverage on incident

Polysorb response model

Pre-positioned spill kits reduce environmental impact and response time
Approved microbial treatment for internal floor and soil decontamination
Trained contractors mobilise rapidly to contain, treat and document
Service contracts reduce risk through proactive inspection and containment

Regulatory approvals & credentials

✓ Sensitive habitat approved ✓ Scotland & England operational ✓ ISCO accredited ✓ ISO 14001:2015

Regulatory approvals on sensitive sites are rare in this sector. Our 10+ year record and pre-approved status means we can respond where others cannot — reducing total incident cost through readiness, compliance and speed of containment.
